GlobalView Continues Expanding Data Sources

WARSAW, POLAND and CHICAGO (31 May 2006) – GlobalView Software Inc., the energy industry’s leading provider of real-time, historical and internal proprietary data management solutions, announced four new data sources are immediately available through its award-winning MarketView solution. The announcement was made at the Energy Trading Central & Eastern Europe conference in Poland.

The data, which is both real-time and historical, covers emissions, shipping, oil and metals. The emissions data comes from Point Carbon, making GlobalView the first data management provider to offer it. The data set includes Point Carbon EUA OTC prices (bid-offer-close) for the spot, December 06, December 07 and December 08 contracts. Point Carbon’s bid-offer-close methodology is based on OTC prices. Everyday, active brokers and traders in the EU emissions trading scheme supply market information to Point Carbon at close of market.

“Point Carbon is proud to announce the inclusion of its price assessments in the data sets offered by GlobalView. Price transparency is very important in emerging markets, and Point Carbon has been tracking carbon prices since the first ever trade in this market,” said Per-Otto Wold, Point Carbon CEO.

Also featured in the new data sets is shipping data from The Baltic Exchange, which publishes daily dollar and Worldscale assessments on over 50 key shipping routes covering a range of assessments, including iron ore, grain, coal and oil.

“Baltic Exchange data is the world’s only source of independent freight market information and is used for the settlement for almost all Forward Freight Agreements. We’re delighted that GlobalView is now offering our data,” said Mark Soutter, The Baltic Exchange Head of Finance and Company Secretary.

The other new data sources available through MarketView are ICAP oil data covering Europe and TOCOM end-of-day data for aluminum, crude oil, gas oil, gasoline, gold, kerosene, palladium, platinum, rubber #3 and silver. The addition of data from Point Carbon, The Baltic Exchange, ICAP and TOCOM stemmed from the business needs of GlobalView customers.

“Our customers advised us these data sets were important to their business, and we responded quickly. We have developed a strong advantage with our ability to add new data, especially emerging markets and specialty data. This allows us to really cater to our customers’ needs and lead the industry in comprehensive energy market data,” said Eric Fishhaut, GlobalView Senior VP Technology Strategy.
